  • Safeguarding policies

    In line with the Irish Sports Council's 'Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children's Sport' the GUI, ILGU and PGA produced a safeguarding policy in 2006. This policy was updated in 2011 in line with changing legislation and advancing safeguarding information. To view a copy of 'Code of Ethics for Golf for Young People', see below

    There is also a safeguarding document for clubs that contains samples of all necessary policies, so that each junior section can create their own safeguarding policy. This Club Child Protection document can be downloaded and modified to suit the club's needs, see below. Further safeguarding information is available on our Safeguarding in Your Club page.

    Alcohol, Sport & You

    A new booklet published by Meas and available on the Drinkaware website may be of interest to clubs. 

    The Alcohol, Sport & You booklet gives information whether you have people training seriously, toning up or just having a kick around the park. It contains essential info on why and how alcohol can affect the body as well as the impact on overall athletic performance.
