Junior Charter
In 2001 the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Irish Ladies Golfing Union established a working group to draw up a policy document for under-age golf. The 'Charter', which has the support of the PGA Irish Region, lists the aims of the Unions in developing all young players. It is also of assistance to clubs in the running of their junior golf section, by outlining ways to deliver an enjoyable introduction to golf and keep golf 'healthy' within the clubs. Code of Ethics for Golf for Young People
In 2007 the Golfing Union of Ireland, the Irish Ladies Golfing Union and the Professional Golfers Association (Irish Region) produced the Code of Ethics for Golf for Young people. The policy contains codes of conduct for leaders, players and parents, a bullying policy and guidelines for travelling, supervision, overnight trips and physical contact, along with guidelines for recognising and reporting child protection concerns. The policy also contains samples documents for clubs, so that each junior section may use the material to create their own child protection policy.
