JGI run coaching clinics and workshops at open events and tournaments througout Ireland. In addition there are a number of coaching centres where your local professional does the JGI coaching programme and you can plot your own progress using the JGI players manual Read these player manuals. Tournament Closing Dates
Entries are closing soon for two popular golf tournaments for juniors aged 13 and under. The GUI/ILGU have once again organised the Leinster Under 13 Open, which was very successful last year and will take place in Royal Tara Golf Club on the 11th of August. Entry forms for this tournament can be downloaded here. Entries close on July 18th.
The inaugural Don Patterson Open juvenile competition will take place on the 14th of August in Warrenpoint Golf Club, Co. Down and entry forms can be downloaded here.
Junior Golf Ireland & Ladies' Irish Open
Junior Golf Ireland will run a FREE coaching clinic at the Ladies Irish Open in Portmarnock Links on the 11th-13th of July . The clinic is open to beginner junior girls of all ages, and any non-golfing mothers who might be interested in taking up the game. If you would like to book a slot for junior girls in your club, or even an individual lesson at the event please contact 045 844041. All participants will receive free passes to the tournament.
Junior Golf Ireland PING Summer Camps
Junior Golf Ireland in association with PING is delighted to announce a series of Summer Camps for children aged 8 - 12 years. The camps will be ran by PGA professionals for 3-5 days in various clubs and facilities nationwide. Click here for more information and a list of dates and camp locations.
Junior Girls at Arklow loving JGI Coaching
Junior girls from the Arklow area have recently commenced the JGI Coaching Programme. Catherine Ledwidge, Junior Girls' organiser, began the process some months back with the recruitment of willing participants from the local schools, having identified the need for the development of the junior girls section of Arklow Golf Club. JGI meets NUI Maynooth Scholars
Last September saw the launch of the Golf Scholarship programme in NUI Maynooth. Seven boys and four girls from various clubs in Ireland were selected as the first recipients. Junior Golf Ireland spoke to some of these scholars about their early golfing experiences. Read more here.
