Junior Golf Ireland & Ladies' Irish Open
Junior Golf Ireland held a coaching clinic at the Ladies Irish Open in Portmarnock Links on the 11th-13th of July . The clinic was a great success, with almost two hundred novice junior girls and mothers dropping in for lessons with local lady PGA professionals. All participants received free passes to the tournament, along with JGI tshirts and caps. Mr. PING even dropped in for a visit! The clubs that participated include Craddockstown, Dun Laoighere, Woodbrook, Arklow, Newlands, the Grange, Sutton and Knockanally .
PGA Level 1 Training Courses
The PGA will be holding its Level 1 training course in Irish venues later this year. This 2 day course is aimed at junior convenors, volunteers and assistant professionals, and topics include chipping, pitching, putting, and basic swing techniques, along with notes on the preparation of coaching sessions. Coaching Centres
JGI run coaching clinics and workshops at open events and tournaments throughout Ireland. In addition there a number of coaching centres where the local pro does the JGI coaching programme and players can plot their progress using the JGI players manual (Read more). Child Protection Courses
Local Sports Partnerships run the Irish Sports Council's 4-hour basic awareness 'Child Protection in Sport' throughout the country. In addition the Coaching Northern Ireland run courses on a regular basis and they can arrange a course for you at your local golf club where demand exists.
