Junior Golf Ireland PING Summer Camps
Junior Golf Ireland in association with PING is delighted to announce a series of Summer Camps for children aged 8 - 12 years. The camps will be ran by PGA professionals for 3-5 days in various clubs and facilities nationwide. Click here for more information and a list of dates and camp locations.
Tournament Closing Dates
Entries are closing soon for two popular golf tournaments for juniors aged 13 and under. The GUI/ILGU have once again organised the Leinster Under 13 Open, which was very successful last year and will take place in Royal Tara Golf Club on the 11th of August. Entry forms for this tournament can be downloaded here. Entries close on July 18th.
The inaugural Don Patterson Open juvenile competition will take place on the 14th of August in Warrenpoint Golf Club, Co. Down and entry forms can be downloaded here.
Transition Year Women in Golf Programme
In association with the Irish Sports Council and the Local Sports Partnerships, Junior Golf Ireland have recently launched a nationwide golf programme for Transition Year girls. At least 200 girls from schools in Donegal, Sligo, Roscommon, Clare, Waterford, Kildare and Dublin will receive several weeks coaching from a PGA pro and be transferred to a local golf club for membership. We hope all the participants get lots of enjoyment from the programme!
Junior Golf Ireland also plan to host Gala days for those girls involved in the programme, the first of which will take place for the Kildare schools on Thursday 15th May at Red Lane Golf Centre Newbridge .

Code of Ethics for Golf for Young People
All those working with young people are advised to complete the Irish Sports Council's 4-hour basic awarenss 'Child Protection in Sport' course. This is a 4-hour awareness training run by the ISC through the Local Sports Partnerships. Junior Golf Ireland has a list of these courses available by downloading here.
