Child Protection Policy?
In line with the Irish Sports Council's Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children's Sport the GUI, ILGU and PGA produced a child protection policy, 'Code of Ethics for Golf for Young People'. The policy contains codes of conduct for leaders, players and parents, a bullying policy and guidelines for travelling, supervision, overnight trips and physical contact, along with guidelines for recognising and reporting child protection concerns.
The policy also contains samples documents for clubs, so that each junior section may use the material to create their own child protection policy.

Child Protection & Recruitment
Clubs should carry out a safe recruitment procedure to ensure all those working with young people are suitable. Vetting checks are available to clubs but should be done as part of an overall recruitment process and not as a stand alone process.
Leaders should sign a code of conduct and children and leaders should be adequately supervised, see golf code page 10&14. Both Garda Vetting checks (ROI) and Access NI checks (NI) can be carried out by clubs through JGI.
