JGI run coaching clinics and workshops at open events and tournaments througout Ireland. In addition there are a number of coaching centres where your local professional does the JGI coaching programme and you can plot your own progress. Coaching Clinic at the Seniors Open 2007
JGI had a very successful coaching clinic at the Seniors Open at the PGA National, Friday 29 June. Pictured are girls from the Women in Sport project that took part in the lessons given by tour players taking part in the Seniors Open. The project which gives 15-17 year old girls the opportunity to get involved in golf, will continue this year. For more information email nkitching@juniorgolfireland.com
Junior Golfers meet Irish Stars
There was great excitement this summer at the JGI tents at Irish Open in Adare (won by Padraig Harrington) and the European Open at the KClub. Hundreds of girls and boys of all abilities visited the JGI tents for free lessons throughout the tournaments, the highlight of which were visits from as a visit from tour professionals Paul McGinley, Graeme McDowell and Padriag Harrington. Pictured is Paul McGinley talking to girls from a local primary school - one girl was lucky enough to get a present of Paul's signed glove.
