What is JGI?

JGI is the body that oversees the development of grassroots junior golf in Ireland for the governing bodies. It is a partnership between the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI), the Irish Ladies Golf Union (ILGU) and the Professional Golfer's Association Irish Region (PGA). Based at the PGA National in Kildare the work is led by the Director of Development, implemented by its Regional Development Officers and overseen by a voluntary committee comprised of its partner organisations.

Aim of JGI

young boy playing golf

JGI wants you to learn the game in school or club in a fun environment so that you will play the game for all long as you like at a level which you feel comfortable. This might mean that some golfers will play loads and reduce their handicap a lot, maybe even play for their country and for others it might mean that they will play golf so that they can spend time with their friends and have fun. Whichever way you choose to play golf JGI wants you to enjoy it and play it for life!
